Contact Performance Management PROGRAM MISSION:
To ensure that city leaders have the information they need to track performance, document successes, and identify opportunities for improvement in city services Office of Performance Management (OPM) Performance Management staff support the measurement and management of service delivery performance citywide. Staff includes three Performance Management Analysts, each of whom consults with an assigned group of city departments to prepare, analyze, report, and refine key measures of service performance. Their efforts are managed by a Performance Management Coordinator. Performance Management staff are part of the Financial Management Division within the Finance and Management Department, positioning them to support the City's overall commitment to effectiveness and efficiency. The Office of Performance Management is coordinating the development of a performance information infrastructure that will enable City service managers to accurately define residents’ service needs and to optimize service delivery systems around those needs. OPM provides consulting services to managers within each of the city's 13 departments, assisting in the identification, definition, and periodic reporting of relevant measures of service performance. Columbus*Stat In conjunction with the Mayor's Office, the Department of Finance and Management launched Columbus*Stat in January, 2006. Columbus*Stat serves as a forum for the Mayor and his chief administrators to meet with departmental managers to systematically examine performance trends across all levels of the city's services. Columbus*Stat offers a process of performance analysis, achievement recognition, and accountability for all City services. Each department meets on a quarterly basis. To date, more than 100 Columbus*Stat meetings have been held to improve the City’s overall performance.
